Carline Procedures

Morning Car Rider Procedures:

  • There is one line located at the front of the building.\
  • When dropping off, the first car to drop off should pull all the way to the corner near the front door in front of the person holding the stop sign.
    • If the car stops in front of the sidewalk, students should disembark from the vehicle and walk down the sidewalk to the front door
      • Once cars stop moving, students should unload if their car stops in front of any part of the sidewalk and walk to the front door.
        • In the instance of rain, students may unload where the awning begins at the end of the sidewalk
        • The sidewalk stretches all the way down the front
    • Once all cars have unloaded, the stop sign will change to Slow and the person holding the sign will step to the side to allow the cars to exit towards the road.
      • Cars are to move slowly when exiting for the safety of our students and staff.
  • Students should open/close their own car doors and parents/guardians should remain in their car at all times.
    • If a 5K student needs help opening the car door, please turn your flashers on to alert our staff members.
  • Please ensure students are ready to exit the vehicle when it stops

Afternoon Car Rider Procedures:

  • There are two lines located at the front of the building
    • The first car needing to load should pull forward to the cones after rounding the corner by the front door.
    • All other cars behind the first car to load should pull as close as possible to the car in front.
    • Once you have pulled forward and are waiting for your student to load, put your car in PARK.
    • Once all cars are stopped and in Park student names and color zones will be called
    • Students will walk on the sidewalk to the color area they were called to (the color indicates the area of the car line their car will be in)
    • Students will go to their car, open their own car door, enter the car, and close their own car door. Parents should remain in their car at all times.
    • If a 5K student needs help opening the car door, please turn your flashers on to alert our staff members.
  • Car tags will need to be on display in your front window until the student is in the vehicle.
    • If you do not have your child's car tag, you will be asked to continue through the pickup line, enter the parking lot, and report to the office for sign-out.
  • Children must exit and enter cars on the passenger side only.
  • No cell phones please. We need your full and focused attention.
  • When loading and unloading children, we are interested in safety--not speed!

Car line procedures are in place for the safety of all of our students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please keep your car line tag displayed until you  have your child.
